Report of the activities on Professional Business Services - PROPEA in 2021

We closed the action plan of the PROPEA project in the year 2021 and below would like to report on activities in this project.

Overview of activities and outputs implemented in 2021 :

For the Czech company KSK Precise Motion, a.s. was developed a business plan for entering the Japanese market, researched and approached potential business partners and competitors were identified.
Follow-up steps to market the products were recommended and the requirements of the Japanese authorities were identified in order to secure and verify the necessary documents for importing the products into Japan.

In addition to the paid PROPEA services, the CCCIJ provided several consultations to other interested parties from Czech companies that are interested in entering the Japanese market and are interested in using the PROPEA services. Unfortunately, due to time limitations, it was no longer possible to offer and implement PROPEA services this year 2021, and therefore we recommended they wait for the next year 2022.

In addition to the services provided to Czech companies, the CCCIJ informed about PROPEA services on its websites and social networks, and in the section dedicated to the PROPEA project (www.cccij.com/inpage/propea/) also published a report of services provided in the previous year 2020. In Japan, CCCIJ promoted project PROPEA at business seminars organized by the CCCIJ, taking into account the current situation, especially online in the form of her own activity called CONNECT and in cooperation with the Honorary Consulate in Naha also at a business online seminar for areas in Okinawa and Kyushu Islands.

Achieving project goals :
As part of the consulting services provided to KSK Precise Motion, a.s., the business plan proposal, the most appropriate strategy for entering the Japanese market, identifying a business channel for product launches and established price benchmarking with respect to domestic competition. Follow-up steps to market the products were also recommended.
As part of the creation and coordination of partner networks, a total of 96 selected sales and distribution companies from the field of automotive, machine and tool manufacturers were contacted and approached.
Feedback from potential partners was mapped, including recommendations for the Czech side regarding the current situation in the Japanese market. The list of recommended TOP potential 5 partners for further negotiations was prepared, and specific meetings took place online. The visit of Japanese partners to the production plant in the Czech Republic will take place, as the situation with COVID-19 allows.
Communication with Japanese authorities and customs was realized in order to provide the necessary documents for the import of products into Japan, and subsequently recommended to the company for further logistical steps.

CCCIJ tried to promote PROPEA services for Czech companies through CCCIJ online activities for both those interested in the Czech Republic and Japan, by using a membership base, and database with more than 1,000 contacts, or through partners (in cooperation with some associations, honorary consulates of the Czech Republic) who helped with media coverage.

Changes in the project :
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and closed borders in Japan, it was not possible to hold face-to-face meetings in Japan and Japanese companies could not come to the Czech Republic. Therefore, the communication continued in an alternative online way, and personal face to face meetings will be as soon as the situation allows.

The pandemic also limited CCCIJ from planned activities, which were planned for 2021, in particular, the annual business seminar for Czech entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic – Doing Business in Japan.
