Jan Mládek (born June 1, 1960 in Czechoslovakia) is a Czech economist and politician. In October 2006 he was again appointed Director of the Czech Institute of Applied Economics. Until the start of the year 2014 he was Chairman of FONTES RERUM, a cooperative for economic, political and social studies. Since January 2014, Minister of Industry and Trade, in years 2005–2006 he was Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic. Jan Mladek speaks fluent English, Russian and Polish.
